Think going down the 3x8 might be a bit easier (read cheaper ;)

Got some Mirage shifters and some Veloce mechs (f&r) if they're any use. Plus Veloce rim brakes.

Shimano 105 triple front mech works fine with Campag triple shifters (and is easier to source). I've used this combo for years.

definitely triple? i have square taper compact campag cranks (110bcd) which would enable you to run nice low gearing!

I have a very, very well-used (look at that middle ring) Centaur 10-speed triple set up as pictured (175mm). I’ve not been able to remove the spd’s, but haven’t soaked or used a vice.
I took it to a jumble but it wasn’t well-attended and didn’t sell, set at £28(!) pretty much based on the front mech value. It didn’t sell so I was going to gut the shifters for single speed etc.
But if you’ve got a use for it..?
