School hols are getting in the way of bike builds (not that I'm complaining - I had a great MTB ride with my boys the other day). I've just had time for one more build: the classic team combo. This one only works with dark-anodised rims IMO.

Classic looks great too. Choices, choices. Did you decide against the red and yellow leather bars?

Great stem/bar combo.bsuits the bike so well

Yeah the colours are awesome. Red might be a bit much. Yellow seems more fitting. With the black stitching it's giving me serious Bruce Lee Game of Death vibes! Not a bad thing that.

Next installment: all black. The bars look just wrong to me against the blue, as do the black tyres. I like the rest, though.

I thought I'd love the yellow: my first track bike was a beautiful white Geoffrey Butler with yellow saddle and bars.
This doesn't work for me, though. I can't decide if it's GBP or anti.

The black Sugino ring and double straps look hot, though.

I like the yellow combo but then again I have a pro yellow bias on most things. I think the black is too understated on this bike. It's either the yellow or white seat/bar combo.
The black sugino ringdoes look good though

This brings back so many good memories of my brothers Raleigh road bike which i always want to replicate one day. His frame was all pearl white and had the blue tape with the black turbo and lighter gumwalls on ceramic mavics. I personally really like the black tape and saddle but think world champ finishing tape to match the hubs and period gum walls might "set it off" or something like that. Yellow is a bit strong for my tastes but i am a bit dull.

Great build, looks amazing! I actually prefer the look of it with white bar tape.

I'd forgotten about those WC stripes! They were on the hubs when I bought them used in 1989.
Fair point about the light. I always seem to miss the golden hour.

Ha, edited it out as I didn't want to sound too critical!
Very much enjoying this build, one of my favourites.

Super fun, I like it

The good thing about being that close to the sea, is that you can very easily dispose of those yellow tyres into it.
The bike would look stunning with a pair of Veloflex or similar, gumwalls.

If I only ride at sunrise and sunset
Bootiful. I had an old Beetle painted in a rather questionable turquoise blue, 90% of the time it was too much for me but for an hour a day it was perfect!
