so I have a bike booked for my week out in Berlin, does anyone have any recommendations for routes north-northwest of the city? I'm staying at The Vield in Vielitzsee... any points of interest/routes appreciated!

Nice part of Brandenburg around there. I've been swimming and walking around Ruppiner See which is near you.

If anyone’s interested there’s a retro mtb flea market at Naumanns Biergarten Saturday 28th 12:00-18:00, there’s always some interesting retro stuff to see from these guys, and just all round nice lads to have a chat with.

Wow I don’t know how you folks survive as a cyclist in Berlin. I rode into town for the north and from about 20kms out the traffic and infrastructure massively slowed me down. Compared to the week before in Copenhagen it was a bit change. Not a very bike friendly city but plenty of bikes around, keep going!

There are people commenting on this thread how great they found cycling here!
But getting in/out is a challenge unless you know what's good. There's some really funky stuff that basically needs tutorial videos.
Inner city has improved a bit in terms of infrastructure, but I think the main contribution towards safer/nicer cycling is safety through numbers -

Hiya. Will be in Berlin in February and wondered if there are sessions at the velodrome that cater for drop-ins? I had a look on the website but it seemed very concert focused! Thanks. J.

it is a bit complicated with the Velodrom, the local clubs get their own training slots and you as a single rider from somewhere else need some kind of race license to train there. do you know a local rider that could take you with him/her maybe?
