• What would you choose for rim brake carbon clinchers for 105 11sp? Fulcrum wind 40C caught my eye. 17C rims still seem ok for my unfashionable 23-25mm tyres? 1.5kg bit heavy? Not looking to go tubeless. Give me another decade to catch up with the cool kids.

Are they the same as what Merlin are calling the 400C for £899?

  • Light Bicycle would get my vote, particularly if you can hold on until Black Friday and get a decent price drop. Or eBay and keep an eye on Tri Sport Resort/Chicken Cycles/Paul Milne's, normally some NOS wheels floating about.

In general, Fulcrum "hundreds" series are the OEM version. Every one I've looked at has been identical to the corresponding aftermarket wheel apart from the decals.

  • I have a pair of completely new LB AR375 rims, UD layup, graphene brake surface, 20/24h going spare if any good for you/interest in building or having something build.

  • I'm super happy with my Caden rim brake tubulars (1080g / 49mm).

Check out their range of clinchers; they're mostly under 1.4kg and 900 quid: https://carbonbikewheels.com.au/en

I've got the spendier Decadence option with straight pull hubs and CX-Rays.
