  • Dear thread
Our son was gifted a resin printer this weekend so we're starting playing around with the stuff. The printer is an anycubic photon m5.
His first chosen test print consists of a bunch of parts that ate supposed to be fitted together. First impression is that they don't fit very well so I was wondering how much of a thing shrinking/expansion after printing is? Does it vary between machines or resins? Or if there are other obvious causes?

  • the tolerances can vary for different printers / printer types.
i've found a bit of trial and error is needed to get interlocking parts to fit.
i sometimes print out a couple of thin slices with different tolerances to test parts before printing an entire model to save time / filament etc.

you can also try and find a file with a print profile that has been configured for your specific printer.
