  • Did spurs really spend £65million on Dominic Solanke? I know he did well last year but the previous season he scored 6 in 33 and in his last premier league season before that it was 3 in 32.

  • So we can expect at least 24 goals this season then

  • Solanke and Johnson, a £100m strike force ...

  • He was playing for Bournemouth to be fair, hardly blessed with creative talent to support a striker.

He's a pretty decent striker, not sure £65M good though.

I reckon he'll do well with the players around him now.

  • he never really shone at liverpool, he looked decent but didn't standout amongst our strikers at the time. got a few games but was moved on relatively quickly. he was behind mane salah and firminio and danny ings. he would have needed to be as good as haaland to get a sniff.

just hope our sale included a sell on clause.

  • Slightly delayed but in more "football on holiday" reports, my son and I went to Roma vs Empoli on Sunday night. First home game of the season and a sell out, mainly due to Dybala turning down a move to Saudi and committing to another season. They love him, maybe 50% of the crowds wearing a Dybala shirt. This all lead to an absolutely cracking atmosphere at the start, which went steeply downhill over time as Empoli took a 2-0 lead which was definitely not in the script. Their No 10 Fazzini was superb in the classic No 10 role. Roma then managed to score and laid siege to Empoli goal, hit the woodwork twice in one move and then Dybala hit the inside of the post from 20 yards in the very last minute of injury time.... I and probably all other 70,000 people couldn't believe it didn't go in. Final score Roma 1 - 2 Empoli, first ever win at Roma in their entire history. Then walked about 4 miles back to our Air BnB as traffic was utterly fucked :)

10/10, superb entertainment. One tip if you ever go to a Serie A game, take ID. They checked our passports twice at two separate security cordons, including my son's, and proper checks as well, not just a glance.

  • Chelsea in for Ivan Toney 😆

  • Does Todd think it’s Pokémon or something?

  • I've just seen the Chelsea punk advert and everybody involved needs to be dragged through the streets having dog shit thrown at them

  • Fuck me that’s embarrassing

  • Man Utd and Sterling….that sounds like a wonderful idea.

  • Hah, this originated with some transfer site making up something outlandish for a laugh (Sterling/Sancho swap) and now loads of journalists are reporting it.

  • It's fucking horrendous so try hard. Nike football need to have a word with themselves.

  • It's super lame but it is a part of the story. I used to walk past Seditionaries on the way to the ground, was more scared of the punks hanging around outside the shop than I was of all the nutcases in the North Stand or The Shed. Silly boy.

And Jonesy and Cooky are both Chels.

  • Yeah I like the idea behind it but the design with the Nike tick up on its end is daft. If Nike had any balls they would leave the logo off. The pink and black is nice tho.

  • Ramsey to Southampton is a bit perplexing.

They've got to be favourites to go down, and he's better than a championship keeper....

  • Pisti lines up another bleach cocktail

  • I can understand on the basis that he's a Southampton fan, but it's way too early in his career to be dropping his level.

  • Hahah! It’s funny cos it’s true. For club and player.

  • If they're the only ones to want him then he doesn't have many choices.

His best bet is to play and have Chelsea sign him for their goalkeepers harem next summer.

  • He’s in the premier league. “Level” doesn’t really matter right now. Pickford has (rightly) been the England no1 though a period where Everton have been one of the worst teams in the league. What Ramsdale needs is game time, if he gets enough of that then he’ll get a move elsewhere should Southampton go down and improve his chances of being England’s first choice keeper. If he helps keep his boyhood club up then I can also see the appeal. Interesting to see how he does without Arsenal’s defence in front of him.
