My Heston dual plate one has lasted ages, and has been dropped accidentally quite a few times. Goes through batteries quite quickly though, I think because of the backlit screen.
I don’t use the smaller precision scale but much, and have to be careful the bowl doesn’t overlap. 10kg in 1g increments.I also use a sage precision one which I got free with a sage coffee machine. Seems pretty robust, does 0.1g increments up to 3kg.
Can’t go too wrong with Salter(sage/heston) for scales imo.
Not a fan of glass tops for food or weight scales.
Digital scales
I had the Heston ones but the top was glass and bowls twice suctioned to the scales which then fell to the floor and smashed.
After less than a year of use kitchenaid ones died.
So last week I got cheap ones from amazon which are terrible, placing the same item on the scales gets wildly varying results.
Who makes decent robust digital kitchen scales?
