Ah yes, there's another block in Barking which had wooden balconies that burned:

Structural timber seems to be a good thing all things considered but needs to be treated properly.
The top two floors appear to have been added around 2014 which have the non-compliant cladding. The lower floors are part of the original concrete facade and have look like they have been rendered. The balconies also look like they could have part timber structures which could have spread the fire between floors.
