  • Extremely tasteful. What about a big x top handlebar bag?

  • Picked up a second hand Secan F+F here and built it up in June in preparation for a summer spent in Squamish, BC (Canada). Have been so happy with it, but my only gripe is that it has the OG fork without rack mounts. Here’s my setup for 4 days riding some fun single track and forest service roads, with a stupid amount of climbing, carrying all our food.

Not so keen on this Apidura bag. I have a Carradice saddle bag I’ll put on when we’re back home this autumn, but was worried it’d be too bouncy.

Are there any decent thru-axel front racks out there? Might consider looking for a fork with bolts otherwise - I’ve got a Tara rack I’d like to use again.

  • I think Old Man Mountain do something that would work.

  • A very silly 30kg ready for 9 days in the Loire valley

  • Looking good 👍

  • OOF what a beauty!

  • so fucking good

  • Thanks y'all - it's an absurd thing but a total hoot to ride. Finding Ortlieb and Decathlon bags in a matching yellow was just the cherry on the cake.

It's all massive overkill for what will basically be a week of riding on canal towpaths but no regrets.

  • One of mine from a trip along the Danube last month.

  • Do they turn with the fork? Or around the fork?

  • Full size Ortliebs? Do they have enough ground clearance for bumps and things?

  • More pics pls.

  • Now I wish to say sorry for replying so late! : ) Thank you for your very nice reply - also for the tip on the Oac. I wasn't aware of it until now. Looks like it doesn't hinder the forwards-reverse adjustability of the saddle like my Bagman does...though I couldn't do without the QR. Very nice though!

  • Do they turn with the fork? Or around the fork?

The Moulton pannier rack solution is a bit of a contraption but it works - fixed to the head tube so independent of the bouncy fork

  • I enjoyed catching up on this thread!

My set-up for a very off-road heavy Grande Traversée du Jura . First time with panniers, surprisingly good but they do invite bringing more stuff than necessary. I could have done away with the fork cages and strapped one of those dry bags on top of the rack instead, but I didn't like that visually.

  • Front City Rollers.

I normally only use panniers for road tours which often include gravel. For any singletrack they're no good.

  • Wow that is quite something!

  • What a lovely thing. I like that you can fit a bottle cage on the inside!

  • My current setup while I am lost between north East Italy and Slovenia (pls kids don’t tour with sus fork 🥲)

  • Fuck me that's a lot of plumbing. Never seen a bottle cage made of Reynolds tubing. It must weigh more than my frame.

  • The whole thing weighs a tonne and the French canal towpaths are really bringing out all the best British Engineering squeaks and rattles but hey it looks cool as shit so whatever, right?

  • Excellent baguette placement

  • If you are in France I think the baguette needs to be on the other side for baguette jousting.
