Very useful vid, ta! Think the borough waterproof is top choice then based on size
@sacredhart useful intel, thanks. Will keep an eye on ebay

I just bought a T-bag based on recommendations here. It was £65 on eBay in v good condition complete with rain cover. I soaked it overnight in a large bucket with non bio wash liquid added (frame and rain cover removed).
The plastic handle fouled my flat bar cables so I chopped it off and replaced with a paracord one. Now it works very well.

I got a Carradice City Folder or whatever it’s called on eBay for pretty cheap. I prefer it to the medium Borough (which I also have) because of the rear pockets, they seem more practical than the slip pockets on the side of the Borough.
The Carradice is at least as large as the Borough, which is plenty for a change of clothes and a laptop.

Looks like the Brompton bike recall for the t line has made it to sky news.

Can anyone explain the Brompton brake cable lengths required? Looking at this table - https://www.thebromptonman.com/cable-lengths.html#/ - there appear to be three lengths for the front brake, when I'd expect just two - outer and inner?
And even ignoring the three lengths conundrum the inner seems to be half a metre longer than the outer, that seems rather a lot?
The rear numbers more sense with just the two lengths and 15cm or so difference between thinner and outer.

Different bars and stems mean different cable lengths.

Well yes I realise that, but the table has a separate row for each bar type: for example I have M bars for which the table says:
"M - 366mm, 485mm outer, 1050mm inner"So what does the "366mm" refer to and is the inner really 565mm longer than the outer?

Cheers..I like the look of those, and have been hovering over the restrap one as well as I liked the idea of something handmade in the UK. In the end though eBay came through and looks like I've bagged myself a large borough waterproof second hand, which I am pretty chuffed with

Lovely Paracord mod!

366mm for the first section where it meets the cable gatherer, then 485mm to the caliper, 1050mm inner seems right, you'll trim the excess off anyway.
Fiver in the post plz... ;)

The front cables are split into two pieces for the cable gatherer.
The lower section is the same regardless of bar/stem type.
The inner has to sit from the adjuster to the nipple. Through the cable gatherer and the last section of the brake, plus excess.

Edit: ignore me! Just seen you’ve gotten something sorted

Thanks that helps a lot - that there were two sections of outer for the front brake was not at all clear to me.

I’m still after a bag frame for Liz’s T bag. She’ll even spring for a bag and frame combo if the price is right.

• #15768
Seriously a t bag?

• #15769
I know!!!

Something like this?
Pretty sure I have one spare, would need to check what the dimensions are.

• #15771
I have one of those and a bag but no mounting block.
Though didn't know it was a t bag.

• #15772
I'm looking for a T bag too!

Has anyone got a block going spare?

D’ho!
Oh cool, any m3 sized will do? Got a pic/example so I can understand this correctly?
