Well it definitely pre-dates long and slack. When I bought it no one could get over the wheel size. I couldn't take it anywhere without being quizzed. Most people thought it was mad and pointless. Time, tastes, asthetics change.
I is tall.

You is tall, I'm 6ft 4in with minimal seatpost exposed!
Coming from a Krampus and running 27.5 x 3.0 tyres on my Scrambler the wheels seem almost road/ gravel width

Layback seatpost won't be helping the slack(er) seat tube angle at all

You painted it that strange yellow mix? Why?!!!??

I used it as a canvas for paint experiments. Looked like this briefly

That’s amazing. Was the yellow in the way to being something else?

So after a first shakedown ride my first thoughts are-
Lovely riding frame, comfortable, capable up and down bumpy tracks, feels nice and light.
Not completely sold on the Stooge moto bars, might look for something with more rise and back sweep- velo orange Klunkers?
Gears need sorting- 7 speed shifter (friction)- 8 speed chain to used 9 speed cassette does not make for slick shifting and 30 to 11-34 is not a great range of gears either.I discovered I needed a 2.5mm shim on the freehub so does that mean I can move up to a 10 or 11 speed rear cassette?
Tyres and wheels are plush and comfy so they can stay for now.
Overall very happy with it and looking toward a respray and slow upgrade. Seatpost feels OK but will probably go to inline when one turns up.

A bit more fettling- Sram SX groupset fitted, except cranks as waiting for a BB. Absolute bargain and all working right off the bat!
Inline post, not sure about but will wait for the VO Klunker bars to arrive so I can get the fit comfortable.
Long term, this is a keeper such a lively comfortable ride, so the plan is to get this as I want it then off for a powder coat back to pigeon blue!
Going to book myself on the Dorset Dirt dash next year!

I had a KM about 15 years ago, similar looking geometry. I remember putting on some Race Face Atlas bars ,(710 iirc) and being quizzed loads in the Llandegla car park about it. Wheels too big, bars too wide, SS is ridiculous.........
Used to jack-knife really easily too.

Yeah I missed my mk1 Monkey I bought thus as a replacement! Very different beast as it turns out but just as enjoyable

Another day another delivery of bars! 100mm rise Junkers will hopefully be 'the 1s'.
Needs a new/ longer front hose now though.
Checked the derailleur hanger using the soareback wheel method, bent it back straight worryingly easily. Going to replace the SX shifter and mech with GX mech and NX shifter.

Yes unholy mess of cables, zip ties, cheap dropper and that saddle BUT I think the fit is almost there and much prefer the feel of the Junkers

Oh yes bars defineatly not in final resting place- a fun fact is that the steerer is 1in thread less not 1 1/8- using a spacer for the stem at the moment but any recommendations for 1 in spacers ?

thanks
I believe you!
Also i can't believe how high you had the seatpost in your drop bar build!!
I am considering a front rack so that may help even the look out, or are we all brainwashed by the long and slack mantra?!?
