Good stuff. Glad to know I’m not barking up the wrong tree.

In reality, do folks with removable pedals get into the habit of taking one off every time they fold it? Do I need a pedal pocket? I'm clearly becoming clumsy in my middle age because every time I carry my bike, I gouge my own leg or bash that pedal into something/someone.
-
• #15729
Yes, I take it off every time. My bike has a bracket on the fork that holds the pedal.

There's a pedal socket which attaches to the front axle where your pedal can be stashed when it isn't being used to propel the bike.

alternatively, the factory recently instated an M3 spring washer to mitigate this issue. i would recommend that before Loctite or similar products. i put one on mine and haven't had issues since.

Ahh, of course they'd think of that, thank you.
I'm building up to a splurge on upgrades, H&H pedals the nice but pricey option?

A colleague has just lost their third Brompton mudguard roller, has anyone got a spare or any tips for fitting?
It looks like they don't come with anti shake washers.

Would 100% recommend with some caveats:
- mine definitely needed the smaller front chainring to make it viable
- It’s still a bit like hard work on long uphill drags, but I just get off and push and toddler is happy to just sit and survey the surroundings/ask me daft questions
- You do need to adopt a knees out pedalling style
It has totally transformed the bike into something I used occasionally to something we now use all the time. Kid definitely prefers it to the back mounted seat on my other bike and we have good little chats while riding now. Hopping on and off around town she just stays on and I push her around so it has largely replaced the push chair, too. My wife, who is much less confident on a bike and a fair bit shorter than me also finds it easy to use :)
- mine definitely needed the smaller front chainring to make it viable

does anyone know of a good site that will allow me to compare gear ratios of a 3 speed to a typical 11 speed road set up, i ride on both and wanted to figure out what the equivalents are. the 3 speed is hard going on anything over 9% gradient but also spins out on a descent, so thinking about the options out there to change the ratios

Having owned H&H pedals I would probably go for MKS. The quality is better and has a bigger surface area for your foot.

This will do the Brompton ratios:
http://xldev.co.uk/bgc.htmlNever found one I really like for more regular gears but this provides the basic info:

The Sheldon Brown one is good for regular setups... https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gear-calc.html

Probably the smaller wheels having less momentum so you really have to keep feeding the power in whereas a larger wheel with more momentum carries you past the dead spot at cranks vertical better?

Picked up - cleaned up very nicely. Bag is a different but brand new ortlieb one which may be up for sale to make the bike cheaper 😂.
Got it for 650 as the bag was different to advertised…

Had some secondhand ti workshop ones, which snapped after about 6mths of use.
Now have some mks compact ezy oneshttps://www.condorcycles.com/products/mks-compact-ezy-removable-city-pedal?country=ES&srsltid=AfmBOoq0GulwL1s11mA-I8H1N-9vWNczEYeLUAbfG_7BAiBc0BynQApv53s&variant=44072145977665
which the ti workshop ones are modelled on, and they are working well. Mks ones both pedals are removable, but I don’t really take one off as they have a yellow security circlip which makes it a bit of a faff.. -

Brompton bags... is there anything out there that beats the borough waterproof large bag in terms of size and practicality? It looks great, and as I'll be taking my brommie on some overnight trips in the next few months I'd definitely like something I can squeeze a change of clothes & laptop into, with room to spare. However dropping £190 on a bag doesn't really sit right with me, and I'm trying (for environmental as well as budget reasons) to go second-hand as much as possible. Am v tempted to see if I can get a new one via C2W though...

All 3 bags they used stayed dry.
Brilliant of Sunningdale sum it up much better than I could.
You might be able to get an O-bag second hand (I saw Jacky of this parish had one a few months ago for sale)

The older t-bag is bigger than the borough i think?
I did it for a while on one of mine. Top run of chain sags a little when you brake but it never came off for me.
