  • Looks like a very similar model. There are five of us, but we are much better looking.

  • It's worth getting it serviced on age rather than mileage, as some stuff deteriorates over time rather than use. It'll be well overdue a brake fluid change I imagine.

You don't have to be anal about it but worth having a look at the official/recommended service schedule to see what's supposed to be done and when

  • I did the oil change on my Mk1 Yaris with just a spanner for the sump plug and a washing up bowl as a catch can. The plug and filter could both be reached by fumbling under the front bumper, no jack required. Filter came off by hand.

Though I'm sure they've found a way to ruin it on newer ones.

  • spotted this shiny wolseley 18/85 'landcrab' in sunny hunny at the weekend.
nice to see the 1970 tax disc in the window

  • Isn't that the bigger 500+ floor pan?

  • The seat/fiat 850 is a lovely car.

  • I'd do the oil and filter every year. With that kind of low mileage cars oil isn't going to get hot enough to clear out the moisture. Oil and filter is cheap. I use mannol oil from eBay as it is cheap and gets good reviews. Make sure it matches your engine spec.

I'd check the air filter and cabin filter every year and give the area around the chambers a clean with a vacuum.

@chaley break fluid is every two years not 5

Though coolant and gear oil at 5 years on s manual box.

Cambelts I do on years when it needs changing and spark plugs take out and look at then at half the recommended mileage to see what they look like as lower miles mean they may not get up to temp to clean.

  • That was a massive car when new and tiny now.

  • Why has no one asked if it was the John malkovich or the orthodontist.

The caravelle is based on the dauphine, designed (maybe built by Ghia) called the floride in the UK.

  • Cheers all. I'll probably book in for a service this time round then look into what I need to do myself for the future.

  • Do you, in particular, want to get your hands dirty and have the tools?

  • it's ~ 3 years since I last had my 2017 Yaris serviced

Toyotas don't need servicing, everyone knows that

  • Thought the sunset reflection was noice

  • Nissan Micra k11, bought a 6 years old, sold at 20 never been serviced in about 20,ooo miles in those 14 years.

  • I'm not overly interested in doing it but possibly would if it was easy and didn't involve needing to raise the car up. I know I don't have time at the moment though so will just take it for a service.

  • Can list 3 to avoid.

  • Muffler going in tomorrow. CEL came on again tonight, pulled over, switched off the ignition and fired it up again, it was back for a second then went away. Scanner said no fault code. It's a mystery.

Vroom vroom tomorrow then. Hopefully not followed by bang bang.

  • Muffler is FANTASTIC! Car is now 900% more fun. And feels faster. And smoother. So throaty, so sporty! Vrroooooom!!!

  • Ooh, that's fun when little mods give so much reward. Good stuff

  • It's really cool, it was just a fun little car before, now it's an angry beast of a machine. The transformation is incredible.

  • I'm having the opposite experience after changing my exhaust. My old one was rotten and crumbling so I picked up a stainless steel version from a friend, and it's doing my head in.

  • Assume you’ve already done this by i put my uncle on mine for a weekend and cost me £25. Could do it on the insurers website and took about 5 mins

  • I used cuvva as recommended by owl. £50 for the week.

  • Echo in the car?

  • 55 reg super charged mini over 100k and no mot

    Good idea/bad idea?
