That shit should be on by default
I think it is on some new devices. My mum's new (about a month ago) Samsung came with "battery preserver" on from the factory

Might be your battery getting swole which is bad. The adhesive has to get pretty hot to be loose enough if you wanted to get the screen off deliberately.

Pretty sure mine 6a's wasn't, which was why I mention it.

Maybe that's because Google are a bunch of cunts and Samsung aren't 🙂

That's one way of looking at it. At least Google aren't slowing devices down like Apple (that we know of, I wouldn't put it past them) or creating shit that blows up so I have to listen to a special announcement about Samsung devices catching fire on every flight.

Whereas Chinese batteries never catch fire🔥🙂

At least I don't have to hear about it every time I get on a flight. Dirty Samsung.
FYI: I've owned a bunch of Google and a bunch of Samsung phones.

It was normally charged overnight on old USB with the trickle charging option on. All other sensible options to preserve battery also on as well.

"and was absolutely rinsed by pornhub during every waking moment of the day"
Yeah, I dunno then, unlucky perhaps?

Wonder if it being hot here did it? The back doesn't seem bloated. They said they'll warranty it, just got post it off which is a pita.

£1 from car phone warehouse, nothing from Google 🤷

Green screen has become green line. 🙄

I'm put off getting an 8 cos of this green screen issue.
and now the 7a that i got for the kid has gone black screen after just a week - it was "as new" refurb from GiffGaff; I hope they play ball with a replacement.
so i think my love of Pixel phones may now be over.

also can anyone explain what's different about these (other than price and one has OS 10)?

My 6a battery life is much improved after velocio approved Graphene OS install.

One of them is a Samsung Galaxy A55 5G 128GB, the other one isn't. It's £439 direct from Samsung, there's no way you can get a 44% discount on a genuine current model.

My Pixel 8 has also developed the green screen problem in the last few days. This is my third Pixel phone and the first one I've had issues with. Extremely irritating!

All my Pixels (and Nexus phones before them) have died due to bootloops or just general bricking, not sure why I keep buying them TBH. 🤨
-
• #23020
Also on my 3rd Pixel. No issues apart from me cracking screens. Not sure that's an issue with the Pixels, as I do it to all phones it seems eventually.
-
• #23021
It's probably either a grey import or a refurb.
-
• #23022
I'm tempted by a refurbed Samsung S23. I've never had a Samsung phone but other Samsung stuff I have seems well put together.

For me it used to be for the cheaper prices and unlimited photo storage. Neither applies any more. I'll be looking at other phones come my pixel 6 dying. £1000 for a phone can fuck off, AI can do one too.

I declined the trade in on my old 6a and bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (catchy name) instead. Apart from the usual bollocks of transferring stuff over from the old phone and losing loads of shit - and a day or so getting used to the slightly different OS - I'm delighted with the change. Way longer battery life, 120W charging, more than decent enough camera, better screen and I managed to delete all the bloatware off it as well. Not sure I'd go back to Pixel after what others are reporting on here.

For me it's been the price + camera.
We used to have Motorola - which bar the security support were great IMO. Then I got a pixel for my OH and the photos were just so much better, and finally meant there was an Android delivering the sort of snaps you'd get on iPhones. So I made the switch and stuck with Pixel for their upgrade too.
My 6a was bought in late 2022 and still seems ok. Do you often use fast charge? Did you set the trickle charging option that will preserve battery life? That shit should be on by default, really.
