How do I get the excess dye out of a pair of black wallabees?
The dye bleeds to my trouser hems.
I've tried soaking in water. -

Having ummed and aahd for ages I decided to order some Indonesian hand made boots from Ortodoux , the Rufus on 27/07/24
Got an email with an EMS tracking code on 30/07/24 that showed expected delivery by 03/08/24 and that showed they left Indonesia on 01/07/24 routed via Turkey to UK and then they have just disappeared.
I've been getting stuff shipped via EMS for > 20 years from Japan and Asia and nothing has ever gone amiss until these bloody boots.

Probably the wrong thread but someone will know. What are 'normal' laces for training shoes. A Rennie for scale!

Engineer update:
Gonna go for these, not perfect but the heel and vamp are okay, toe is passable and ankle needs work but I can live with. And cheap enough to not worry about too much. Still nearly AU$500 tho'. Role Clubs are over US$2,000 and a two year wait.

Been chatting with the company selling those boots, I thought they were in Indonesia but they're actually in China. Now I'm a bit sketchy on the deal. Iz I a racist?

If you're not happy for any reason then so be it
I've sat in my kitchen and wondered what it would be if everything manufactured in China disappeared - and that wasn't comfortable
Couldn't strongly say I wear my politics on my feet -

Oh, I know that very well, most of my sneakers are Chinese made, my current trabs are Vietnamese. Just questioning my own snobbery when it comes to traditionally made proper leather shoes. Can't argue with the price, just gonna have to shit or get off the pot. I know I haven't got US$2K to drop on a pair.

Think you can get some Fortis boots for that kind of money no?
-
• #9593
Not sure on the price but the shape is totally wrong on their offerings.
Very hard to find a silhouette I'm happy with.
Fussy bastard, I'm sure you can relate!

Friend of mine does these. Custom made, only best materials available. Quality is nuts
-
• #9595
I'm sure the quality is great but they look like they're made on a shoe last, that vamp and toe are far too slim for my taste, not at all what I'm after. Tough and elegant are the boxes I need ticking, your mate's boots are a bit too far over on the elegant side of the equation.
I'm not on the spectrum, honest. 😋

You should pull the trigger an go the MTO order route if you’re sceptical about the other pair. Better to spend money on something you are sure about than spending it twice.
You can also tick all your OCD/ASD gripes.

Those Chinese boots are MTO too!

Attractions #444 (bottom pic) are my #1 but sold out and $$. WESCO MP probably my #3 but huge wait and $$$, also a bit on the butch side.

Be gutted if they go but also sad if they get bought by LVMH or similar and double in price.
Part of the problem is they last so long you don’t become a repeat customer until decades later.
