I hear that and that's the dilema. I won't jack the Hyundai up so much. I will use it to go skiing and into the mountains, so I can see good use from 4x4. I would use the VW light off road and I'd be scared to damage it or get stuck.
T4 Syncro if you can find one and have cash to burn?
For reliability I would go for a Japanese van over a VW
I've got a very small and tight budget, what I sold.my UK van for. Hence older VW.
I think Hyundai is the ticket. Having seen two spacegears in Kyrgyzstan where no land cruiser should go, I know they're capable beyond need.
