  • just over 6000 unique beers

And you're still young, so you're well on your way. :)

  • Aye many times. It's a blast! They're all great places. Big Penny is a sight to behold - it's vast. Signature is pretty cool for live sport/music. Exhale great for a late one. Tonnes on offer in terms of beer. Wildcard used to be my favourite, but I'm pretty keen on Pretty Decent. Plenty of food options across the places - good pizza and BBQ.

  • Many times, I started going up there when there were only two breweries. I usually walk round the north reservoir and cut off at the top which brings you out near Hackney and Wild Card. Then walk down from there.

I'm not a fan of Signature, although most seem to be, but there are plenty to go at.

  • I’ve only done 4 of them This would be a good forum alldayer, maybe without the bike though…

  • The naming of these two Lidl beers seems a bit iffy.

  • I'm appreciating Co-op's two bombers of Staropramen for a fiver offer at the moment.

  • Smoked beer is rank

  • Is it the Czech or Carling stuff?

  • Annoyingly UK brewed. It'll do in this weather.

  • Depends, smoked porters and stouts I'm in. German style beers that tasted like someone's dropped a slab of smokey bacon and cheese in, not so much.

  • TBF it was a German one that went down the drain that time

  • Bloody great if you like this sort of thing.

  • Do any supermarkets sell minikegs?
got friends of my wife coming round the weekend and I will likely need beer to get through it, don't want to break out the good stuff to almost strangers, so thought a keg or 2 of something pleasant would be a good alternative (London Pride, Broadside, something like that?)
Likely too late for an online order so need to go collect it from a shop (Also am in south Essex, so no good microbreweries near by)

  • I think the supermarkets tried mini keg beer and no-one would buy it

Have you got a Majestic nearby?

  • I’ve had Ghost Ship (v drinkable imo) in mini kegs from Morrisons.

  • I vaguely remember seeing them previously, but not in my local Tesco, probably why.

No Majestic "near" but I could probably get to one without too much trouble.

  • Morrisons is the only Supermarket that is a faff to get to near me (its on Canvey, and no one wants to go to Canvey)

  • Do any supermarkets sell minikegs?

The ones in France do :)

Why not be a normal and just buy cartons of piss lager? Or do you have a bar at home?

  • Feeling fancy

I fear buying shit lager will mean I am left with shit lager in the fridge.

Will likely go and stock up on bottles of Golden Pride and be done with it.
If they don't like it, there is a Lidl over the road

  • If you want decent supermarket lager - look no further than Aldi’s Steinhauser. One of the vanishingly thin range of German-brewed beers you can get at supermarkets.

  • I fear buying shit lager will mean I am left with shit lager in the fridge.

Join the shandy chat in whatever thread that was...

  • I'd nip to Lidl and see if they've got any minikegs on. Pretty sure they were doing 5-litre kegs of their German lager (Perlensteiner?), which IIRC is pretty good. If you're near an Aldi, you can't go wrong with their Rheinbacher.

  • Do you not have an offie that does nice(r) beer?
