People here generally used to like bikes when young, some maybe even still do, and now they've got rich and need to prove their success in the different circles they're moving in. But that's not easy validation to get, so it's still very important for their brittle little egos that everyone they used to know is aware of their discretionary spending power - hence, cringey boasting on here, usually Porsche-related, read into that what you will.
They're the types who would turn up at a school reunion in a rented Bentley passing it off as their own. Or in their own Bentley because they think that shows what they've amounted to. Or would just go to a school reunion.
