What's the legal definition of a machete? It's about to be illegal to own one. The government says they "serve no other purpose but to inflate criminal egos and endanger lives". eta: I've found the law. I think it says that only 'zombie-style' machetes are illegal. A machete is 'zombie style' if it has a blade of more than 8 inches and one of the following zombie features:
"(a)a serrated cutting edge (other than a serrated cutting edge of up to 2 inches next to the handle);
(b)more than one hole in the blade;
(c)spikes;
(d)more than two sharp points in the blade (other than a sharp point of a kind specified in sub-paragraph (2))."
In other words, an ordinary machete is not banned by the new law.
