That looks like oak to me and possibly by Stag before the ‘concorde’ angular handles.
Underneath that varnish/wax is a lovely warm honey gold colour. -

maybe there was a makers sticker or printed name but they fall off or fade,not an expert just walked around enough mid century shows and antique warehouses.
if you google quarter sawn oak grain you will see the similarities with your piece and the wavy cross grained pattern.
