I’m sure both Blanka Vas and Niewadoma will have mixed feelings about their successes today even though they were deserved. Hopefully Vollering will be able to continue tomorrow and be able to make it a fight.

Also kudos to Puck Peterse for stopping her cool down to check on Vollering and before even getting bandaged for her own injuries.

I would have expected Lidl-T-Rex to have made this move. Taosaurus and Giuliosaurus don't sound too bad.

I wonder if there is the hand of Anna Van de Breggen behind the choice not to drop any SD riders back…..( psyching out next seasons main oppo ? ) - and Vas’s radio not working ? Weibes could have led Vollering up that last 2km for a bit of shelter ….. not looking after the yellow jersey is not a good look !
As for Nieuwadona … last five km’s - racing is on … ! oh , and shame Lippert went a tad too early - she really had the jump on them …. still a good win for Vas though …

There were followed onto the stage at the Vuelta teams presentation by a T-Rex.

However, they were out shone by Home Alone Roglic who got left behind at the hotel and missed the Bora presentation. He eventually made it to the stage, only to lurk by himself in the shadows to come on at the end whilst Sepp Kuss was talking during the Jumbo presentation, like some evil arch nemesis.

He said afterwards that he'd struggled, both mentally and physically, in the week after the Olympics, and when he started yesterday just felt bad and struggled.
