I'm 3hrs into printing a document for my partner. Our old printer HP C4580 is chewing up every page, I think end of life.
We've been given an Envy 6020e and it is now "validating" it's cartridges with HP. How long this takes is unknown. One workaround apparently is to open the cartridge replacement door, hit the wifi button, close the door, and hope it prints an alignment page.
I have a wifi direct pin for it which apparently should allow me to print without it being connected to the home network, but this will only work if I can work out the special move combo on the mostly non-responsive touchpad. The launch move (Hold (i) until all lights come on) simply prints a printer information report. I have enough of these to wrap all this years Xmas presents now.
I'd happily have paid £50 to print this in my local printers as this would easily be cheaper than my time wasted trying to sort this. I've put the time in now so feel like I should stay up all night to get it working if necessary.
Home Printers.
