Think she played RFH the other night?
I listened to a teaser track from the new album the other week and thought it was instantly forgettable soul-pop!?Shame as Black acid soul is a great album.

How right you are, played Manchester last night, seems I've missed out.
Will have a listen to the new track, if it's as you say, I'll just keep listening to BAS. -

Stoked to have tickets to see Patrice Rushen next month at Ronnie Scott’s, would love to hear this ATCQ sampled track live

I'm very happy at the news of a new album from Galliano dropping in August! Thirty years since the last one. I absolutely caned 'A joyful noise unto the creator' during my teenage years! 😍

Thanks for that.
My playlist for this weekend has been Galliano, JTQ, and Corduroy. -

Patrice Rushen aka BabyFingers this evening.. bad ass performance at Ronnie Scott’s still got it, okay voice was a bit wobbly, but still.. the band and her piano / keyboard playing was top draw.. she is still influencing, still teaching, still writing music scores for films, no plans to retire, turns 70 in September 🥰

Anyone on here going to We Out Here festival this weekend?
My girlfriend and me are cycling down to Bournemouth and then joining a charity bike ride to the festival from Vélo Domestique.
Anyone else cycling there? -
• #611
Not cycling there, but I'm going.
Did you get a free ticket? I think they were offering a small number of free tickets to encourage people to cycle down.
Loads to look forward to over the weekend. Very excited!

Come and find me at the Love Dancin tent. I’ll be there most of the weekend. I’ll be the one dancing like an idiot having drink too much coffee, the batch brewer is going to be backstage so grab a coffee.

Not free but my ticket price goes to charity

I will try to find you 🙌

New LP on its way from Nala Sinephro. I love Space 1.8, and this seems like more of the same lush expansiveness.

Seeing Fred Wesley again in December at Ronnie Scott’s, the bands mesmerising performance and my highlight of 2022, the loviest man, I’ve ever had the privilege to meet and talk with. James Taylor Quartet next month

New Nala Sinephro out tomorrow, carries on when the last album left off, and is great. Nubya Garcia and Sheila Maurice Gray on a fair few tracks, and Wonky Logic doing his synth bass thing on the last track.
I hope she tours with this album.

She played South London Gallery last night. Also playing Barbican later this month. Both sold out quickly :(
I'm dying to see her!

I just pre-ordered the new Bloto quartet album. Can't wait for that one!

Which album? Journey in satchidananda is one of my all time favourite LPs, but she has so many fantastic albums!
And yes I did need to look up the spelling, despite how many times I’ve listened to it! 😅

Astral Meditations, it's a best of/welcome to the slightly unhinged world of....album.
But yes JiS (I cheated) is a fantastic album. -

Here’s a couple of recent finds (both in charity shops, no less).
