Tbf, my fondness for Rohloff and now Pinion has nothing to do with round the world touring as it's not an interest of mine, whereas being able to ride in the UK's famous SFAB without a stray twig mashing up my derailleur hanger is a massive plus for me :-)
I honestly really struggle with what might work for me thousands of miles from home and would probably decide to do a walking tour instead
