We “transferred” at SFO, onto a domestic flight to LAX. Only trouble is our LHR-SFO flight was delayed and then the immigration queue was huge. And they didn’t give a single shite about those trying to “transfer”.
So we missed our planned SFO-LAX flight and went on standby (successfully) for another flight. It was the Thursday before Easter weekend and if we hadn’t got on that flight, that was it until Easter Monday.
And, again, no one gave a shite.
If our friends move back to London (she’s from SoCal, he’s from Melbourne) then I’ll happily never go to the US again.
“Transfer” - not really a thing in the US, given you have to enter the country before leaving again.
I had a connecting flight in 2004. It was a sbit experience and I vowed to never fly anywhere they isn't direct from London again. Sometimes I pay more for a direct flight which is money well spent for me.
