GCN weighed some Tour bikes, the Look wasn't unusually heavy.
I think Pog's was about 7.4. -

To be fair, an extra kilo is a lot. Would be a difference of minutes over the course of the Tour. I'd love a proteam to go nuts and reintroduce top end rim brake bikes at 6.8kgs.

Martin's social media retraction of intemperate sponsor-blaming was an absolute classic of the genre. "Je profite de ce post..."

Didn’t get this post from Martin, the bike weighs 7.23kg on the scale now and he is still blaming the sponsors that it is still too heavy?

I think he's just parroting the team line that weight was only one part of the equation, and reiterating confidence etc etc

I've seen a 785 Huez new for 1200 euros... how are they to ride? I'll build it up with 8070 di2 and some chinese wheels I have kicking around

i have one and i like it. it's comfy enough and stiff enough (for me at least). not really sure how else to describe it, to be honest. it's got quite a tall headtube so fairly relaxed.

Cheers... I'm looking for something a little bit more relaxed for longer multi-day rides so it might fit the bill. price seems good too I think?

yeah, i'd say it's a good price for new. there are no mounts for guards or racks on mine. not sure if that will hamper you on multi-day rides.
i just checked my tyres and they measure up as about 29mm wide and there is loads of extra room at the front and a little bit of extra room at the back -

I had a 785 Huez RS and loved it. I built the frame up with EPS 11 speed Super Record and Bora 45s. Great climbing bike, as dinosaur said, the headtube is quite high, I rode an L and am 6'2. Only sold recently as I wanted to build a disc frame up instead.

If it was the white one, I'd have it in a shot. It's the red/black ones

A Look 785s popped up on ebay this morning
No relation to the seller

I have a 785 too and it is great.
I don't really ride it much as I'm not doing much "proper" cycling these days, if anyone buys one and needs to source the solid carbon one piece crank, I have a spare one of those too which I will sell for not loads (<£100?)

What size you looking for?

I'm so devastated that I bought the one version of the 785 that has bb86.5 so the special look crank doesn't fit. I even bought one in anticipation and had to sell it once the frame arrived.

Have you built yours up yet?
-
• #3396
yes, start of the year. Don't think I've ever stopped to take a photo of it though. Will do this weekend

Cheers, but it's to replace a rim brake bike rather than add another to not ride

Apologises, how about this one?
More art than bike…
