it's been a couple of nights in Bangkok or KL
Not having that again - ate me out of house and home.

If I go to Bangkok or KL it's usually my final destination as my sis lives in Bangkok and my Dad, until he passed on NYD, lived in KL.

You're possibly arguing a different point.
It's not to say that all groups think identically about everything. But you have a trend and on certain things there will be consistency.
A modern European Christian will have a certain world view and morality structure that they share with others and will differ to an Ottoman Muslim or Confusion Chinese.
The generations also don't necessarily cut along hard fault lines. My dad is a boomer, but has always very much self-identified with The Silent Generation. Likewise I have a strong affinity with the Gen X ennuyeux, edge-lording, and substance abuse, but without the benefit of buying a flat in Hackney with a 100% mortgage.

The LA transfer was hell
I would never fly into LA again given the chance. Total shitcunts.

I'm with you on this, did it once and then did it again a year later because I'm a cheap bastard. Terrible experience, US customs is the worst.

Two A380s unloaded there and they had two desks running. Then one desk went on break.
Hours in a queue only to be "greeted" by some actively hostile arsehat.
-
• #89459
The fact that we had a 9 month old meant nothing to them either.
Whereas at San Fran it was a relative breeze and we were ushered to the front of queues.

Sounds like landing in Sydney as a non-Aus passport holder. Melbourne and Brisbane always a bit more friendly

Why would anyone go to Oz without an Oz passport? Does not compute :)
I've run through Melbourne, with the missus, jumped straight to front of VIP passport queues, run under all their stupid "sheep path" trails and gone straight to the front of immigration etc, in a (failed) attempt to get my connecting flight after our international one was late. Didn't get shot at once. #csb

We “transferred” at SFO, onto a domestic flight to LAX. Only trouble is our LHR-SFO flight was delayed and then the immigration queue was huge. And they didn’t give a single shite about those trying to “transfer”.
So we missed our planned SFO-LAX flight and went on standby (successfully) for another flight. It was the Thursday before Easter weekend and if we hadn’t got on that flight, that was it until Easter Monday.
And, again, no one gave a shite.
If our friends move back to London (she’s from SoCal, he’s from Melbourne) then I’ll happily never go to the US again.
“Transfer” - not really a thing in the US, given you have to enter the country before leaving again.

I want to ride TD but if Trump is back in I might put it on my banned list again and go do something else.
-
• #89464
The stupid thing for my NZ flight via LAX is that i was getting off to get back on the exact same plane, in the same seat. You even have to go out through customs, pick up your bags. Check your luggage back in and then go through security again. Every other place in the entire world would just let you go to the transfer desk or just let you through to departures.

This seems to have turned into the 'Plane boring stories' thread rather than 'In the News' and yes I know I played a part in starting it.
So here's a crossover in the news story:
Wizz Air launches 'all you can fly' annual deal
Meanwhile I will keep washing my plastic bottles and recycling them. As Sean Lock said when I saw him in Epsom "Oh you all recycle in Epsom do you? I used to but then I went to America for a holiday and I thought 'what's the point?'"
-
• #89466
Ha, I don't live in Epsom, but that is where I do my recycling as it's my nearest depot.
another plan boring story prompted by your post, I was stranded in Poland for 3 days because my Wizz air flight had a mechanical fault.
-
• #89467
When Wizz first started, they were great as they were the only airline that let you take bikes for free. Seem to have gone to hell since.

Confusion Chinese
I think I heard of that. Do they practice Anteater worship?

We “transferred”
I had a connecting flight in 2004. It was a sbit experience and I vowed to never fly anywhere they isn't direct from London again. Sometimes I pay more for a direct flight which is money well spent for me.

This one more on point, though it's a bit stale: https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/spain-ryanair-easyjet-luggage-rules-b2556273.html
Maybe it's the route to ADL specifically shrug
