  • I was in a bad mood yesterday.

  • Gen Xers ... TikTok

    Really?

  • diversive content

Sounds like good content to me. :)

  • Yeah, it's the new Facebook, seriously

  • Not just rape, the whole horrific situation of what he did.

The fact he got so little jail time when he returned to his home country.

Finally where was the protection of women and children from this person? Whilst the vilification of a female boxer

  • The Metropolitan Police is failing in almost all its areas of work, the police inspectorate has said.

The force was assessed across nine areas and graded as "requires improvement" or "inadequate" in seven - including investigating and preventing crime.

  • Not completely no. They don't all vote the same way, there are majorities for sure, but not completely the same no.

How is it any different from saying all people of the same colour or religion think the same?

  • Group think in groups.

  • Someone needs to mention DVT to these fucking idiots.

  • Baby-on-a-flight justice! :D

  • waves

I fucking hate flying to/from Oz.

I'm a DVT risk, so nowadays we stop somewhere. Last trip we used the pod hotels in Doha airport but other times it's been a couple of nights in Bangkok or KL. The best one was a week in Sri Lanka on the way over.

  • I'm still using Geocities and Myspace. What's Facebook?

  • That pic looks more like his mate next to him has just 'raw dogged' him.

  • It’s like friends reunited but with added family members you do not like.

  • I think the sentences for the online hate are clearly more harsh than they would normally be, but that's the point. ... Labour are saying, fuck that.

How would the government influence current court cases? The judiciary is independent.

  • The one and only time I flew to Oz, we spent a few days in Hong Kong. I grew up watching shed loads of Hong Kong cinema, so it was epic!

  • They've made lots of statements about it, freed up courts and judges giving the message that they want this dealt with quickly.

  • My next trip to Europe from Oz will only be ten days long including the flights, hardly seems worth it.

  • Nice. My partner worked with a woman from Sri Lanka so that trip was pretty cool. The overnighters/weekenders aren't enough time to get involved but they are a nice break from the dread of the long haul and a nice little surface scratch for local food/drink and the odd bit of sightseeing.

  • That used to be a nice stopover location ... not so sure the city has quite the same vibe now.

That said, Doha or Dubai is the shortest route to OZ. Massively so. So if you're planning direct, that;s the way to do it. I did go via Singapore before but that meant an 8 hour layover in the airport plus an increase of in-air flight duration by 4 hours or so

  • They haven’t changed the law or the sentencing guidelines. These are a direct output of the Tories who brought in the legislation to clamp down on protest and online abuse.

  • That's not worth it. You can't go longer?

My folks are supposed to be coming over here soon and I made them extend their trip.

My worst one was flying over to Oz for dad's birthday and extending to xmas and nye (5-6 weeks) and then my idiot brother getting married a month later. So we flew back in less than a month after that big trip, stayed for a whole week for the wedding having binged all the new movies on the first flight. It didn't help that it ended up being 45hrs door to door for 'reasons'.

  • It's not that big of a difference is it? I've flown most routes to/from Melbourne and always just worked on the assumption it was gonna be ~24hr with the stopover. I try not to think about it to be honest.

Having said that, the 45hr journey did involve going Melb to Singapore to Dubai with a few hours in each having to go through fucking security each time.

  • That's not worth it. You can't go longer?

    Reasons!

  • Did a flight to NZ once with Korean Air. It was the cheapest flight I could find and included a 1 night stay in a 4 star hotel in Seoul on the way over. That was nice. Have to say, Korean Air had the best in flight food I've ever had also, some nice bib bim bap.

The other flight I did to NZ was via LA one way and San Fran on the way back. The LA transfer was hell, took 3 hours to get through customs. then had to collect luggage and check it back in and through security again to get back on the same damn plane. It took up the whole 7 hour layover.

The way back was better for a 12 hour stop in SF. Arrived in the mornings spent the day site seeing, riding the cable car, seeing pier 39 and the sealions etc.
