Needs to get sponsors and start towns on board to grow the race. Given the race is passing alongside the borders here, few people (even keen cyclists) seemed to be aware of it coming. It's a building phase I think.

i think the points he has already gained stay with EF. i'm sure i read somewhere that he will be sent to lots of late season one day races to pick up lots of points for astana

But doesn’t that come into play next year? Why the mid-season rush? Why not wait for Vuelta and bondooloo end of season races to finish first?

Bettiol’s points scored up to yesterday will stay with EF. Points from today onwards go to Astana.

Can’t recall how it is in the men’s peloton but other than national champs, almost every woman in the tour today is wearing a skinsuit. It’s a sprint stage but I don’t recall seeing so many men doing it.

Also how did Tashkent City Women get an invite. Is that the best of the rest? is there some sort of pay to play or a UCI program to get teams from different areas into the race?
