This is someone who can simultaneously say two opposing things at the same time (as in has the ability and is allowed to do so unchecked). I cannot see him backing down from anything. Only doubling down.
However, I can imagine him flouncing due to a "rigged election" or some other made up nonsense. Not sure it will happen as it's still a very close contest in which there is still plenty of time for something else to happen that changes everything.
But if he thinks he's definitely going to lose he is absolutely the sort of person who'd bail before defeat.
The Republicans have been preparing to fix this election for the past three years, he's going to trust that they've prepared properly and will dispute the result before the election is even held, and continue to do so long after it has finished if it doesn't go in his favour.
