• Guess who has a car and guess who has a car with an engine warning light on and guess who is on holiday?

Volvo V40 and Norwich if anyone knows any garages / Halfords/kwik fit.

Dealer said they’d sort out the cost of diagnosis etc. it’s just I’m here, and they’re there. Don’t come home until Saturday. All advice etc etc.

It’s hot. Car drives fine. I think maybe the pads and rotors are either still bedding in or are rubbing because there is a rubbing noise when I’m driving!

  • Amber light?
If so, i personally would wait till Saturday. That's just me though.

  • That sucks. Get any local garage to look at the fault code - shouldn't be expensive or time consuming for them to use an ODB2 scanner.

That will tell you if it's a sensor you don't need to care about or if your engine is about to explode.

  • Can you amazon prime an obdb reader to yourself? They're dead easy to use and till let you know if you can just delete it.

For example, I had a catalytic converter efficiently warning that was scheduled to come up every three months but which lit the CEL when it arrived - it was fine to delete it until you wanted to fix it.
