At the time I had a multiple trips booked and I wasn't going to risk them rejecting it because I didn't supply their required nonsense and end up having no passport (and having to pay twice, anyway). I could probably have travelled on my Aussie passport but it would've complicated stuff at some point.
I lied about any support of the Queen when I got citizenship, if that helps? :)
