What's the difference between the yepp mini and the yepp nexxt mini? Some shops seem to list the nexxt as a higher weight capacity but not all.

Anyone getting rid of one?

Anyone know the vertical space required for the Hamax frame bracket? Looking at compatibility with a folder that has minimal clear seat tube.

Looks like our girls are outgrowing the trailer soon. Or even now. Im dragging it about on a vintage colnago with downtube shifters and our eldest is pretty tall and heavy now!

Have had a look at a few e cargo bikes, but any personal recommendations from experience?

The Mycle looks pretty good* but is it actually shit? who knows. Some pals have a decathlon one that they rate.

Still a bit confused by babboe, our curve is second hand, and I’ve replaced the groupset on it. So not sure if we’d even qualify for the recall, but at the moment we are still stuck on “do not ride” which is just not possible as getting to school is a nightmare without it… so I’m just taking the box off every week and having a good clean/ look at it….

Is a Tern short haul (ie without a battery) insane in Bristol, for one kid, strong mama?

Coming to the realisation that I won't be able to get tandem or tandem storage approval.

Kid is ~120cm x 24kg route is rolling inclines on a path.

1. What are the go-to tagalong bikes?
   
2. Are they all much of a muchness?
   
3. How much harder does it make it?
   
4. Can you ride without them - e.g. Return school journey

Have you looked at a Follow-me tandem attachment? Would seem to tick all the boxes above. Obviously assumes your child has an existing bike. Probably the smallest option in terms of storage, and provides some flexibility when out and about too.

I have. Child has an Isla.

It seems to be the market leader and it sounds like the seatpost ones aren't great.

Not cheap though.

Meant to reply to this at the time, depends on your route I think, Fishponds to centre, totally fine, Whiteladies to Dundry you might struggle. Also depends how often you'll be fully loaded. I have a meagre 5%ish climb at the end of my commute, rode up it with 15kg of toddler on the back today and it reminded me how glad I am I usually do the route in the other direction. Managed it but I wouldn't want to do it every day.

I have a follow me. It is solid af, I really rate it. Great to be able to attach and detach the bike in a few seconds, means you can switch up between pulling them along and riding side by side over the course of a ride. Defs not cheap but they don’t really lose value too much, so you should be able to recoup a lot of the outlay. Admittedly that will be a fair few years down the line.

Note that a follow me can only be used for wheelsizes upto and including 20” for the kids bike.
For a kid of ~120 cm, you will probably switch to a 24” within a couple of months and you cannot use the follow me anymore.

I used one for a couple of years and noticed that the kid copied my riding style as he was attached to my bike and could see what I was doing the whole time. We used it from 12” upto 20”.

At age 5 he was already adjusting his speed when he noticed that the traffic light was red and had learned that he otherwise had to wait longer at the traffic light. Same with cars that do not use their signal lights but you feel somehow that they are going to make a turn.

Are there any racks/systems capable of carrying a 25kg+ child other than a dedicated cargo bike or a trailer?

Does anyone have an old style Yepp mini adapter for a quill stem I could snaffle up? (Pictured). Seems like only the new ones for sale these days and backwards compatibility isn’t a thing at Thule apparently.

There are some options, but in my experience they are hard to come by in the UK.

I've actually got a Bobike Junior Classic that I'm not going to use if you are interested. Never fitted, though I have opened the box. It is rated up to 35kg.

I have this recollection that a FollowMe Tandem requires some sort of different connection (the axel?) for an Isla Bike. Kid has a cnoc 16.

Does anyone know what I should be looking for?
