• Max budget about £350, so not going to get anything very flash, but in case anyone has an old pair kicking about?

    Thanks

  • Is it just my imagination, or are there almost no rim brake wheelsets out there with campag freehubs? Carbon or otherwise? (apart from a fair few sets of Boras for silly money)

I know people say that for 11 speed, shimano cassettes work with campag shifters/mechs, but it just makes me nervous.

  • Pretty much does work but campagnolo ratios so much better than Shimano. Sram 11 28 is OK. Centaur 12 32 excellent.

  • Agreed, been looking on EBay for over a year and Campagnolo hub Wheelsets very much in the minority but there are a few Shamals on now - great bang for buck. Or Zonda if on a budget

  • You have DM.

  • Go for a shimano wheelset with hope hubs and swap the freehub for campag.

  • I have personally used Shimano cassettes with my Campagnolo groupset with no problems.

  • They work without issue. I have run this set up (or vice versa) on three different bikes, the differences in spacing are so minute to be negligible. Plus shimano 11 speed cassettes are cheaper & all manner of ratios available.

  • If you find a set of Shimano Hunt's I have Campag freehub thats compatible with most of their range

  • Shimano and Campagnolo 11 speed spacing is identical. I have ridden many many km without issues. Even when buying new wheels I would go for Shimano freehub as their cassettes were so much cheaper than Campagnolo.
