  • My Fuji Touring on day three of London-Venice earlier this year. Very happy with my rig. I roll up my hammock with the sleeping bag still inside and fits into a stuff sack. The detachable basket is great for grocery shopping, and throwing in my shoulder bag/camera/radio.

  • I've been taking a tarp, bivvy, hammock. Not a super lightweight setup but gives lots of options.

  • That hammock photo was actually an evening when three campsites in Füssen said they had no trees for me! So I wildcamped in the forest nearby. Once you have one in your sack you'll be spotting two perfect trees everywhere.

  • If you carry a small section of groundsheet, most hammocks can easily be set up on the ground like a bivvy bag. Worth carrying a bit of extra guyline and pegs so you can use your bike, lamposts, a single tree, etc, to keep the head end of the hammock and tarp lifted off your face.
