  • perhaps to score brownie points - pun intended cos I am brown.

  • Robert Jenrick appears to have said on Sky news that people shouting Allahu Akbar "should be immediately arrested"

I think you are the one needing arresting son.

  • For the sake of balance, anyone yelling 'praise god' should also be arrested. A few less vicars, priests and sundry ministers would be no great loss.

  • You're nicked son!

Edit: insert 'fucking'. Apologies for inaccurate use of official Police terms.

  • My street WhatsApp is buzzing with worry about lewisham being far-righted tonight, any intel?

  • Fuckers planning a return to Belfast. Ugh.

Some politicians still saying "valid concerns" in relation to protest. Nope. NOPE. No. This is organised violence.

Heard that shit as a white immigrant during "totally not xenophobic" Brexit and this is a million times worse with organised violent attacks.

Aside from what's already been said what worries me most is the impact on people :(

People feel unsafe and are scared and there are fundraisers to help, groups are organised to help impacted people and find safer shop areas, but how does a city and people now being / feeling unsafe heal from that? What can we do?

Keep talking and gathering funds to help?

  • Heading over to Walthamstow hoe street shortly. Any forumengers going I’m in grey wearing this cap ;)

  • You have the option to drop the "fucking" so long as you end the phrase with "sonny Jim".

  • There were even bullshit posts on Nextdoor my wife showed me from someone claiming they were being sent home from 2pm and a notice had gone out to High Street shops to close but it all seems to be rubbish designed to confuse and heighten anxiety

  • Not saying you'll do anything wrong, but might not wanna bait up your identity, just in case, you know?

If I head there I'll keep a look out. Will more likely stay spotting on the side roads as that's where all the spillover riff-raff will target lone innocents, houses, business etc. if things kick off.

  • I’m not there to get handsy but have removed the pic

  • My office has had the front door locked a few times recently because a tiny group of pro-palestinian protesters planning to walk nearby. They're being ulta cautious these days

  • Judging from the photos and videos of the people involved in the riots and street violence, they have been chewed up and spat out by neoliberalism.

  • All good fun in Walthamstow so far, no EDL to be seen. Just hope it stays that way.

  • Just seen a vid looks a big turn out

  • It's in the thousands, for sure.

  • Tens of thousands easy. I’m outside the office now. It’s a party

  • Is the bloke with the mic the former NUT general secretary Kevin Courtney?

  • Yeah, lots of heavy hitters here. 8pm has passed and still no fash.

  • This is awesome :)

I was out for a couple of hours, back home now but my son's just gone down.

  • ^^ Make sure you write a gobby song about it. You've got your new guitar now, no excuses.

  • Probably about 10k in Walthamstow I'd say. Saw a police van parked up by Bakers Arms around 6:30pm so worth staying vigilant just in case.

  • Locally in Southampton, turnout of the anti-racism protestors massively exceeded the racist knobheads.

Pretty quiet overall, which is a relief.

I expect there will be some awkward conversations at the Weatherspoons later.
