• Dig slightly too deep and line with sand on horizontal planes. Line with old carpet or go wild and get pond underlay (it's cheap!) on slopes.
    Make certain the liner fits fairly accurately ir the weight of the water will distort the whole bloody lot.

    There's a reason I always used butyl liners!

    At the princely sum of £free it was a rod for my own back, but hey.

    Currently almost at the point where it is too deep, I have an old carpet ready and a bag of sand. I need another bag to make sure the layer is thick enough.

    We’re currently sorting through smooth round pebbles, sand, and fine mud to sit on the very base of the pond. Hopefully by end of next week there will be a stable structure.
