Does anyone think there will actually be any far right whoppers in the planned places in London tonight? I'm going to go to Walthamstow to counter the presence just in case but seems like a suicide mission from the edl surely?

I hate these twats, and imagine throwing bricks at them could be justified, but I do wonder how adding more shouty men to the mix will improve things

Fair point, I stand corrected. Still very distasteful to then come out a day later on the 5th to describe them merely as far-right activists. That's the message that has stuck. Damage is done I guess, and people are angry.

They've tried before:

100% agree the key is being there as a supportive presence, but not adding fuel to the fire by giving them what they want in terms of a reaction, unless obviously if in self defence

Personally no, they came before in 2012 and got sent away by a united Walthamstow. I however am not comfortable sitting idly, and am not ruling out the possibility (however slim) that this could also be a decoy to attack people, business or places of worship on other side roads. Or that the stragglers to the riot will be doing just that. Let's hope they don't show up.

exactly! part of me thinks its smoke & mirrors for something
-
• #89109
yeah agreed, I could see one of the locations maybe being targeted more so, maybe finchley?

Brave Mr Yaxley-Lennon (cunt) is happy do send them in from his sunbed in Cyprus though, I'll bet...

I think they're unlikely to show up. But I think it's valuable for the community to show a united, positive, defensive front. We'll be rolling in from about 7.

• #89112
yeah likewise

Is there anywhere that's listing the locations of these riots?
I'm getting whatsapps from local parents about them popping up in various locations near us. Hard to know if they're legit

This is the list I keep seeing. Something about it doesn't feel right though.

Same. Disinformation?

I’ll be there in Walthamstow from 7 as well. Not expecting any real trouble but not much hope for help from police either if it looks like Finchley will be the spicy one.

Appreciated, thanks - the Brentford one is the one that's 500m away from me. I guess disinformation or not I'll have to take it into account.
Pretty depressing all the targets on that list.

yeah, not a single spelling mistake, not like the far right knuckle draggers at all

We had a council statement warning people about the Derby one on that list and counter protest is being well organised
-
• #89121
LMAO! Many groups got infiltrated too so even if they were true, intended targets and dates may have changed. I tried to join one of these EDLish telegram groups myself but was too late - they changed it to only admins can post and their last message was something like "closing this group until we sort out this P@k! problem".

8pm in Hastings apparently. Seems oddly late (and pointless as there will be almost no-one about in the area at that time to witness the protest).
Police/council/etc taking it seriously… -

It's another Russian influence campaign; Brexit was just the start, immigration is just the next angle of attack. All very, very online which is convenient.
Last night was the 6th, but she was describing these riots as racist and islamophobic on the 4th: https://www.facebook.com/reel/412255285166842
