I assume this is one of those issues that only becomes apparent in ownership and actual useage.

I mean that could work...

Sage precision or Moccamaster with thermal carafe
I'd really like to try a Ratio 8 to know what that was like but if I were you I'd go for the moccamaster

pretty sure @NurseHolliday had some thoughts on this

I always want Derek and Clive to shout “Nurse” and for Holliday to arrive

I’m curious about this comment - the Robot is 31cm high by 16cm deep, what’s your space limitation?
-
• #27183
I don't think I have the cupboard space to put it away, and my OH likes everything put away...

It's not just the seal, the whole body inside is worn so that would need to be replaced too, then you're essentially buying another piece of plastic with a limited shelf life. What I need really is a bigger kitchen....

I had one of those for touring and it was shit and messy.
I carry a small mokka pot now. I think mokka pots are my favourite way to make coffee. My hobs are not mokka friendly so I don't really use it at home.

I really want to try this, although very much in the nice but pricey category
Also follow up, you can get spare Aeropress rubber plunger bungs

Thanks for the summon @Tenderloin
Yeah you have to drill 2 holes in the lid. I realised it was a problem because after dishwashering the carafe and lid, I could hear water sloshing around in the lid. The handle of the carafe has a drain hole but the lid doesn't.
If you search back in the thread, I've taken a pic of what you need to do. It's a problem that Sage haven't considered and will just tell you to buy a new carafe, which is incredibly wasteful, but it's solved really easily.
I can't take credit, I found the fix on Reddit.

I picked up some Guji Flip Flops @Tenderloin and it's very much my flavour profile
Cheers for the recco

But just wait till your partner sees how cute the Robot is. Easily, easily, the most straight forward way to make actual espresso. Thoroughly worth the money. Incredibly easy to use. You won't regret it. So long as you have a proper espresso capable grinder. If not, then perhaps look at a Flair Neo Flex.

yeah boiiii
it's a little more than some of their others but tastes great and unlike some funky beans its super easy to dial in for espresso or filter so I'm a big fan

Treat it like the piece of functional art that it is!
I built a special shelf for mine because my other half puts nothing away and so was endangering the little guy.

Do you think the mittens are worth it?
I kinda want them, but enjoy the tamp being held. I'm in the process of carving a scoop that'll fit in the other hand too.

• #27194
Nice wall.
-
• #27195
I think they are, yes. Because the pro tamp is worth the cost as well. Which can't be held in the hands.
-
• #27196
What are your hobs ? You can get stainless steel mokas that work on most
-
• #27197
Just electric ones, but they're all massive for the moka pot so just feels very wasteful to be using them, or I need to get a huge pot haha
-
• #27198
Yep, totally worth it, the claws are IMO possibly the only design flaw on the 🤖

Thanks, user name checks out.
