Ask how I know ;) I'd clean the whole area of the sensor at least a couple of cm around and the spot pick up.
@TRA am just talking, I have cars with grease nipples still. To me a thourgh service is a replacement of all consumable liquids and filters. Checking the bits that wear and things like engine and suspension mounts. Sort of have an idea how the bits are.
With a prince engine, regular camchain changes and tensioner ...but the bore wear shouldn't be an issue with regular oil changes and never letting the oil go low.
Some times the sensors need a plug and unplug to help remove built up corrosion and the tips a wipe as crud accumulation can affect the reading.
