The Dutch have the advantage of being the tallest people in the world. Obviously this is not fair. The UCI should ban it.

Men’s 1500m is the BBC’s over focus tonight then.

Following the cycling around the BBC platform should be an Olympic sport.

Discovery plus fairly frustrating but at least they’ve ditched Vauxhall Carlton.
GB men’s TS looking good for 2028 as the Dutch will have had a shake up by then, Roy is 35 I can’t see him doing another cycle. -

Billy big bollocks Kerr only gets silver.

Crazy race - lucky to get silver there in the end, the extra distance he had to go to try to go round the outside of Ingerbrigtsen likely made the difference - that plus he thought he had it in the bag once he was past him... Think the commentators are being quite generous to Kerr, although better second than fourth...

Norwegian dude should have held his sprint line better

Yes mad race. If ingerbrigsten held the inside lane and hadn't pushed Kerr wider there would have been no room. Hocker letting the other 2 only think about each other and sneak in was good tactics.

That was a great run from the Americans there. Kerr came across as a prick from all the BBC preamble stuff.

• #638
Definitely, fair play to Hocker - not a bad time to sneak an upset!

Ah - update, according to interview just given apparently God carried him to the line. Hadn't realised.

God has been working overtime this year it seems.

I just heard that . He thought he was going to die so maybe he has had a event.

If he got a lift surely that’s cheating?

Did he say which god? Hermes I'd have thought.

Would have been a good follow up interview question.

Is there any way to watch any of the more niche events on catch-up somewhere? Preferably without signing up to another subscription service.

I think there's a smattering of highlights on Olympics.com?

The women's park skateboarding was good yesterday, not least because the young women were so supportive of each other that you couldn't be impressed by not only their skill and toughness but their compassion and joy for their sport.
Also, Antoine Griezmann is obviously having a super fun time, celebrating every single French medal: https://x.com/AntoGriezmann
Boys against men but top effort.
