Think it was an event to advertise his casinos in Atlantic City.

Plenty of info in wiki.
Quite interesting to see that even in '89 there were protesters against him at the first stage, and that he said 100000000 people watched, but it was probably only 10'000. -

I’m all in favour of Pride but this is going too far

I just listened to the Behind the Bastards podcasts about RFK jr, and this story is completely standard for him!

The bit I liked the best about this current one was he’d been planning to take it home and eat it. Totally on-brand if the Bastards episodes are to be believed.
That said, my cousin’s dad used to serve road kill he found on the road side. Also, here in Luxembourg they on driving lesson theory courses they apparently explain how to butcher a deer if you hit one with your car.

Only person capable of running a casino at a loss
You’re right in general, but you’d be surprised how many high roller casinos in London run at a loss or teeter on the verge of insolvency due to cash flow issues.

Tim Walz is Harris’ VP pick. I think he’s a great choice.

Don't know enough about him, but given the people going into meltdown over it, I'm inclined to agree. Seems like a genuinely likeable man.
I can't quite believe the Democrats over the last couple of weeks - it's like a completely different party.

Yeah - beginning to pull ahead in the polls for overall vote share, but likely to still struggle to get the swing states to convert.

Would have loved to have see Robert Kennedy involved a bit more, but the bear incident seem to be a heavy blow, but it is america so who knows?
-
• #18342
Isn’t the problem that the stupid crazy people will find him quite relatable?
-
• #18343
As with Trump and Musk, the kind of people drawn to him either aren't going to care or will find it makes him more relatable.

There are probably hundreds of these photos by now, but I reckon this one stands out.

I'm getting excited!
It's understandable, but it's purely a political decision so close to an election.
Those cases are never coming to trial. They've been stuck in pre-trial motions for 16 years!
The best that can be hoped for is a plea deal where they spend the rest of their lives in prison. Otherwise it's detention without trial in Guantanamo until they die.
And not all of the victims families will be happy about this. The ones that have been following the cases and understand the legal process have been pushing for a deal, purely to get closure on this.
This American Life did a really great episode about it.
