"Bathroom feature from newspaper lift-out (3)"
Tub!

Fuck off then!

• #28

i might do some more of these, i love doing crosswords but i'm crap at cryptics and this seems like a nice way of getting into them a bit more.

Tub
Tap
Mat
Bog
Log (after I’ve used it)Enjoyed the explainer but a bathroom feature it is not! Golf club >>>>

Actually I think TAP was my first answer and then TUB and then I realise I don't know how cryptic questions work and started arguing about where to host a SQL instance instead.
So, what's the answer? LOG? That makes no sense to me.
-
• #31
Log (as in a big shit) was me throwing my toys out the pram before asking for a letter. That’s not the answer (didn’t want to spoil for others).
-
• #32
You can get letters? I've just loaded it again and it's not POO either.
-
• #33
I got it.
Stupid question.
-
• #34
It's annoying. It's not a bathroom feature.

how do you do the drop down spoiler again?

I was trying to lift out from bathroom feature. I should've been trying to lift out from the other shit. One day someone will explain the fucking rules properly and I won't be a raging mess every time I try and do a cryptic dickhead crossword.
There's a yt video of it

bathroom feature (it's not)
It is if you have one. Does farting in the tub count for the rest of us?
-
• #43
Was this hysteria?
-
• #44
bath feature... would be better than bathroom.
Bathroom is a specific room, bath opens possibilities

• #45
Yep

As the question setter is Australian (from the video?) I'm going to make a weak joke that it's actually 4 letters based on their pronunciation - SPAH

This has encouraged me to have a crack at the guardian quick cryptic. And while not complete, I’m pretty chuffed to be getting my way through it. Addictive.

It (here https://www.theguardian.com/crosswords/quick-cryptic/18 ) is good

Have never understood cryptic crosswords so this looks like a nice way of getting into working them out. Got today's in one go which I'm happy enough about as got to it by picking apart the clue. Yesterday I got it with a few letters given, similarly had worked out the clue, just couldn't work out the word from the jumble.
