After clearing the junk I was left with a relatively big problem of loads of old kitchen equipment that didn’t really have much value. Lots of fridges and old cookers etc. this is stuff you have to pay to get rid of and I’m allergic to that sort of thing.
I happened to bump in to a scrap man that does the rounds and brought him in to take some stuff there and then. He took the metal bunkbeds used by the ‘live in employees’ who mysteriously disappeared a few months back, some stainless stuff and other kitchen bits that could be hoofed in to a van. Nice little lot gone, a local chap makes a few quid too so I’m happy.
This left the massive 8ft tall commercial fridge that was stuck in the main room and several smaller ones.
Managed to do a deal with a guy who needed to find fridges for a dog charity in Spain. He took all but one of the fridges, they went to a lady helping dogs so pretty pleased with that too and even happier to get rid of the janky fridges. the chap offered to pay from the outset but I was just happy to move them on. He insisted on giving some cash but i noticed a box of white glass in his van. Must have been a karma thing, as they were an old set of matching set of pendant lights. Right up my street. Did a little negotiating and swapped the glass for the fridges.
I was told they came from the Greenwich picture house. They’re fairly large and will be going in the kitchen.
