The only thing I had beforehand was a POD one and it was shit.
I buy mostly Revelate because I've been using their stuff for years and I know it works so I've no reason to look elsewhere. I buy the Restrap bags because I want custom and they do a good job of the custom frame bags, no idea about their feedbags. No experience with WW in any bag.

Hi all.
Any recommendations for frame protection from frame bag rubbing?
I've seen something called helicopter tape, but I am also wondering if there's a non branded cheaper alternative to the ones I've come across.Cheers

Just looked up the stuff I bought last time on ebay: it is roughly £30, is that what you are looking at? It seems dearer than I remember.

Jeezo. The stuff I was looking at was about £11

11 quid to protect your frame? Seems cheap.
Gorilla tape is good too as it's thick.

I guess it depends on how much you buy

I suppose so.
The question was if there was anything cheaper than the branded stuff though.Like a huge roll for £4 from a DIY store or similar.

good shout. I'm in touch with them about a custom bag already actually.

Get one of those and then make sure it’s ten layers deep at all scratch points.

Does anyone know of a waterproof (possibly non plastic) bag that is good for strapping onto racks?
I currently just use a big shopping bag but it looks like shit and isn't totally waterproof. That said, the shopping bag is great because it has handles and doesn't look like a technical piece of cycling equipment off the bike.

Cheap coated nylon dry bags with a rolled top are great for that.

Some sort of waxed cotton canvas is the only non-plastic waterproof I can think of (or get a canvas bag and wax it yourself).

Plastic but good strapping.

That looks like about right.
I also found this old bundeswehr duffel that could also work. Could clean it off and wax it.

If they made these decently waterproof from a good material but kept the handles (small and large handles, or just the large ones) that would be ideal.

I have one of these you could have for cheaps - I used it plenty for commuting, but I no longer commute and have zero use for it anymore: https://www.beastybike.eu/gb/backpacks-and-sling-bags/1783-chrome-front-rack-duffle-40-bag.html

Sea to summit sells a sling for their big river dry bags in order to carry them when off the bike

Those are huge, no?
-
• #7773
Sadly yes. There's a surplus shop down my road and right after I posted that I went to check one out. They are enormous. I could climb inside and have room to spare.

We use baggu cloud bags in our baskets. No good if there's no platform, and not 100% waterproof. But claims sustainability, nice colours and quite practical with outside and inside pockets. Also does definitely not look like a cyclists bag ;-)

Those look good. Are they a similar size to the Penny bags?
These look very nice but also very pricey:
So what do you get for the extra money if you buy one from Restrap or someone like Wizard Works?
