  • Fair point, perhaps Tom was too much, but the right to be forgotten pretty much only stops you from being found on search engines, there are so many caveats in the legislation as to why a company would need to keep your info even if you've requested it's deletion that it's rarely actually happening.

    Plus most of the time you won't even know who has your data in the first place.

    Well, initially yes, but then GDPR enshrines it and takes it further. Cloud providers and their tenants (well, the ones you might do business with if you were serious about privacy) are pretty serious on compliance.
    Those that aren’t are mostly too incompetent to worry about.

    Governments… when they want to come after you…not so much.
