Rotherham

Another tedious any riders in... thread.

Looking fairly likely that I'll be heading up to Rotherham in the near future. Just wondering if any riders hail from those parts.

First Swindon and now Rotherhan. Not getting the best of luck.

To be fair, we'll probably end up living in Sheffield, which will probably be much nicer. Nice easy access to the Peak District.

Leeds is just up the road, Seldom. Pretty healthy fixed scene up here. It's only twenty minutes on the train. I don't get out with the Leeds lads much, but when I have I've always been welcome.
They're playing a bit of polo at the mo, and spend a healthy amount of time in the boozer.
All round good eggs.

If you wanted to meet up at all I'm game.

Oh, and the Peak District won't entertain fixed gears.
I've tried, and failed.
Hope you've got a geared, because it is some of the best scenery in England.

Yeah, I've got an audax bike, a touring bike and a mountain bike so should be set for the peaks. Also need a job, anything going in reprographics?

Yep, I'm moving north. We reckon that it'll probably be Sheffield so time to drop the GI on the fixed I reckon.

It is Sheffield and my girlfriend, god bless her, thought about my love for riding fixed and rented us a flat at the top of the highest and steepest of the seven hills.

I've finally gotten round to bringing my bike out of storage, getting it repaired and making it SS rather than fixed and those hills are going to kill me. I'm down to 61GI and wondering if I ought to go a bit lower. I'll give it a week and see. Definitely not flipping the flop though as frankly I love the descending around here. A couple of seconds to 20mph and a couple more to 30 and I don't think my knees will cope with 170rpm spin speeds.

Also need a job, anything going in reprographics?

sheffield isn't too bad. Rotherham on the other hand is grim and i can speak from experience. But good luck.
