Yeah, changing the pump hose and head is definitely worth doing.
The brass press fit pump head seems to work well on mine.The Silca barrel and build quality is excellent, so a pump head that you prefer is the best of both worlds.
I have a Boardman pump that is built like a tank, but the double sided pump head was a bit shite. Cut it off and replaced with an SKS one and it’s been working really well.
Always fancied a Silca Pista though, and I can sell it on eBay for £££ if I don’t get on with it.

Someone can correct me, but pretty sure these Silca's all have standard seals and parts that can esily be replaced. It's one of the reasons I bought mine originally.
Ymmv but I always found the head an absolute cunt to use. Chopped the hoze off and replaced it with a 'Topeak Smarthead Floor Pump Hose Kit Upgrade'. I realise it's many, many times more than you paid for the pump but for ~£30 it's absolutely fucking fantastic.
