For sale is a 2007 Steelwool Sweet City Limited singlespeed in XL. Pick up in Angel. £250
This is a fantastic commuter, from a Canadian company. The frame has an eccentric bottom bracket with vertical dropouts so changing the rear wheel with a mudguard on is an absolute breeze. The frame is lugged at the headtube/seatstays/dropouts, and tig'd at the bottom bracket. Classic flat-crown fork. Frame uses mid-reach brakes and with mudguards fits a 28mm tire. 120mm rear spacing. It has a lovely paint job, apparently a 7-part wet paint process, with decals under the clear coat, which must be seen to be fully appreciated. The paint has some scuffs. Tiny bit of bubbling on the paint on the bottom of the non-drive chainstay.
Found some info on this model in an old thread where a sales rep from the company answered some questions: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/131533/
Bike is being sold with a basic set of wheels where the hubs need re-building (I moved the previous wheels on to another bike of mine and put on these spares). This is great if you have a decent set of wheels already (ignore the chain tension - I used a larger freewheel previously and didn't adjust for these spare wheels).
Built with a Steelwool 144 bcd crank (170mm, 46t chainring), Shimano 105/Ultegra mid-level reach brakes with Shimano flat bar road levers, riser bar, Velo Orange chainguard and SKS chromoplast mudguards.
Seat binder bolt will be replaced with a standard one before sale.
Not many of these around, and even fewer on this side of the pond!
