We’ve ended up an a pub with a doggy menu. What is this fuckery? Dolly is unimpressed. It’s ok, she had a yak milk stick she was fine.

Puppuchinos are free in Starbucks

• #6032
Puppacinos annoy me because they're usually made with whipped cream which is a ton of lactose and sugar. You might not notice the liquid turds if your dog is big enough but it's not healthy for them. I like Frozzys frozen yogurt for them, it's made with skimmed milk and lactose free.

FFS, they're dogs not humans, they don't need that crap. Good dog food and a bowl of water at a stop on a long walk is ample.

Apparently it’s quite common, but why? In this places defence they didn’t add gravy etc, it was just meat and veg, but FFS!
Dolly gets water and one of these. She’s fine.

Hey, sorry for what I’m sure is an oft repeated question, but what’s current hive mind recommended pre-puppy reading? We have reserved a Border x Cocker that will be ready in September and need to get educated quick smart! Thanks in advance.

Have you got a field?
I just think about the collies I’ve seen and how much energy and drive they have, plus the cockers I’ve seen which also have a lot of energy and drive. -

Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy (I hate the name) by Steve Mann is pretty good and recommended by my partner and her colleagues

Would also recommend Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy. I found it helpful reading before the four-legged arrives and that gap until you can get outside / take them to training classes. Also an easy read.

If it acts anything lik any collie I've ever met, just get a ball or 5 and it'll be entertained for life. Or anything even ball shaped, stones work.

can anyone recommend a crate for the boot of a car?
Bailey is 90 cm long when extended.
Her normal crate will take up all the boot space, so while familiarity and all that we need the boot space. -

Why not just a dog guard behind the rear seat? If you have other stuff in the back a dog will just roll up small.
-
• #6042
I guess I was thinking the crate in the car could be used outside of the car too, when we get to our desired location.

Surely the answer is a dog seatbelt and they ride up on the passenger seat as co driver and snack manager. With pesants in the back row.

Perfect answer. Though I will be with the peasants as my driving license isn’t here yet.

We've got one of these:
He hates it though, and it's too small for him to sleep in overnight. If we're going away with him we'll either a) book somewhere which has a crate already or b) pack down his crate and load that into the car too. We've got a dog seat belt now and he's much happier sat in the back between the kids.

Sorry, should have been clear. Border Terrier x cocker. I know both the parents (getting the pup off a relative) and they’re lovely calm dogs. Am prepared for an energetic experience tho. We don’t own a field, we have a small garden and live a 2 min walk from a variety of fields, country walks and recreation grounds.

Puppies are mental, I guess the calm dogs are >3y old .
My cocker mix was a nightmare till he turned 3. Now he's a good dog, mostly unless there is a cat or other prey about.
